LAFC Away 2018


At the same time as designing the first LAFC home kit in club history, Dilley Studio Founder Marcus Dilley, also designed the team’s inaugural away kit whilst at global brand: adidas.

Continuing to express the club’s brand as much as possible, we decided to make the colours of the away kit the inverse of the home. Whilst the home kit used black and gold, this away kit featured white and gold. From the MLS badge to the single colour club crest, everything was created to showcase the brand colours. On the front chest, we wanted to draw interest and intrigue to the jersey that may not be seen from a distance. Using a light grey sublimation print (with a tip of the hat to fellow designer Sergio Mareco) we were able to create a graphic that is a reinterpretation of an iconic adidas design. Starting with the famous Germany 1994 graphic, we rebuilt each section from the ground up to represent LAFC by incorporating line art that aimed to represent feathers for the City of Angels.
